Fifteen Cornwall, perched on the cliffs above Watergate Bay, is a remarkable restaurant born from Jamie Oliver’s initiative to train young people and give them the skills and opportunities to build a positive future.
Over the past year I’ve enjoyed spending time with the newest Fifteen Cornwall apprentices as they visited the local producers who supply the restaurant with high-quality meat, fish, fruit and vegetables.

I joined them mainly to document the journey, but I learned a great deal from the apprentices and from the passionate artisan growers and producers across Cornwall. Their dedication to seasonality, provenance and traditional methods is inspiring and directly shapes the menu at Fifteen Cornwall.

Each of these trips is covered on the Fifteen Cornwall blog. My most recent post describes a visit to the Buttervilla Growers, a group of enthusiastic fruit, vegetable and herb producers in southeast Cornwall. Their small-scale approach, attention to flavour and commitment to sustainable practices make their produce stand out.

If you’re planning to be near Cornwall on Saturday 28 November, pop along to the Fifteen Winter Food Fayre. It’s a great opportunity to meet many of the producers in person and to buy seasonal goods and festive treats directly from the people who make them.
Hope to see you there!
