How to cut Potato Wedges?
Cutting wedges is simple: halve the potato, halve each half, then cut each quarter in half to make eight wedges per potato. Photos below show the steps if you prefer visuals.

In short: 1 potato = 8 wedges. Repeat for the number of potatoes you need.
How hot are these spicy curried potato wedges?
Adjust the heat by choosing your curry powder. Mild is family-friendly, medium gives more warmth, and hot powder (plus optional chilli flakes) creates a spicier kick.

Choose the level you and your family enjoy.
How to season Potato wedges?
Combine the curry powder, crushed garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil in a bowl or ziplock bag, then coat the wedges thoroughly so each piece is well seasoned.

Quick easy way to coat potato wedges?
The cleanest method is to use a large ziplock bag: add the seasoning and wedges, press out excess air, seal and shake the bag until everything is evenly coated. Minimal mess and even coverage.

Do I need to parboil potato wedges before oven cooking?
Parboiling is optional. It reduces oven time slightly but adds extra steps and washing up. For everyday cooking we skip parboiling and bake or air-fry from raw. Parboiling can help if you’re preparing wedges to freeze.
How to make crispy Potato Wedges?
The key to crisp wedges is space: don’t let wedges touch each other on the tray or in the air fryer. Place them skin-side down in the oven and avoid overcrowding the air fryer to ensure even, golden crisping.

What temperature to cook Potato Wedges at?
Cook at 200°C/400°F for both oven and air fryer methods for the best balance of crisp exterior and fluffy interior.
How long does it take to cook potato wedges in the oven?
Bake at 200°C/400°F fan for 35–40 minutes. If placed skin-side down you usually won’t need to turn them.

How long does it take to cook potato wedges in the Air Fryer?
Air fry at 200°C for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning.

How to prevent soggy wedges?
Prevent sogginess by avoiding overcrowding. Allow space between wedges on the tray or in the air fryer and cook in batches if necessary.
Can I batch prepare and freeze Potato Wedges?
Yes. Parboil cut wedges for 4 minutes, cool under cold water, pat dry and toss in the seasoning. Freeze them separately on a tray for about 30 minutes, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen at 200°C/400°F fan for around 35 minutes.
What to eat with potato wedges?
These curried wedges pair well with burgers, kebabs, drumsticks, fish or simply as a snack. They’re great with ketchup, mayonnaise or BBQ sauce, or served alongside mains like spicy chicken burgers or grilled fish.
