Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. taco seasoning mix
  • 12 tortillas or taco shells
  • ½ cup Cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce, optional
  • Tomatoes, optional
  • Salsa, optional
  • Sour cream, optional

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed, then stir in the taco seasoning and the amount of water suggested on the seasoning package. Simmer briefly until the flavors combine and the beef is well coated.
  • Warm the tortillas or crisp the taco shells according to package directions. Arrange the seasoned meat, cheese, and toppings—lettuce, diced tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, and any other favorites—on a serving table.
  • Let everyone assemble their tacos: start with a shell or tortilla, add the seasoned protein, sprinkle with cheese, and finish with desired toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

Topping choices are flexible—include avocado or guacamole, pickled onions, hot sauce, chopped cilantro, or lime wedges. Optional toppings are not included in the calorie calculation.
