Ingredients:
1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
5 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2–3 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
1 cup quick oats
1/4 cup caramel topping
Directions:
In a medium skillet or pot with a lid, melt the margarine over medium-low heat.
Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and quick oats to the pan. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring every 1–2 minutes to prevent sticking or burning. Continue until the apples reach your preferred tenderness — typically soft but still holding their shape — about 5–8 minutes.
Spoon the cooked apple-oat mixture into serving bowls and drizzle each portion with caramel topping.
